Amy Helm & The Handsome Strangers Perform The Band Classic In Van

Following in the footsteps of Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers’ Van Session videos, Amy Helm recorded a version of The Band’s “Acadian Driftwood” in their van on the roads of Quebec as they traveled between recent gigs.

Amy is the daughter of The Band drummer Levon Helm. Her band’s stripped-down version of the song from 1975’s Northern Lights – Southern Cross was recorded near the lands that “Acadian Driftwood’s” lyrics describe and features Helm on vocals and percussion, Byron Isaacs on vocals and bass ukulele, David Berger on harmonium and Daniel Littleton on vocals and guitar.
