Amanda Shires Announces New Album ‘To The Sunset’

Singer-songwriter Amanda Shires has announced the upcoming release of her new studio album To The Sunset. Shires’ fifth solo album is due out on August 3 via Silver Knife/Thirty Tigers.
Shires recorded To The Sunset in her current hometown of Nashville at the famed RCA Studio A. The record marks the second Shires album made with producer Dave Cobb, including her most recent full length, 2016’s My Piece Of Land. Shires provided lead vocals and fiddle while her husband, Jason Isbell, contributed guitar on To The Sunset. Additional instrumentation was provided by Cobb on bass, Peter Levin on keyboards and Jerry Pentecost on drums.
According to the record’s announcement, the new album “represents an adventurous move with an edgier sound and attitude” in which “Shires continues to push herself artistically and sonically.” Watch the trailer for To The Sunset below:
