Today, ALO unveiled “The Legend Of Renault,” the band’s first studio single since 2020. At nearly 10 minutes in length, the opus features Zach Gill on lead vocals.

Gill composed the multi-part original with assistance on the arrangement and production from bandmates Lebo (Dan Lebowitz), Ezra Lipp and Steve Adams. ALO enlisted longtime collaborator Dave Simon-Baker to engineer and mix “The Legend Of Renault.”

“Musically, ALO’s new track is an exciting 9-minute sonic journey, that moves from tropical barn-storm blaze into 80’s TV theme-show jingle, before landing in a pot of 70’s rock bliss,” Gill revealed. “The lyrics of ‘The Legend of Renault’ tell a tale of transformation, liberation and friendship, while documenting the mysterious origins of one of ALO’s most beloved mascots… Renault.”

“The Legend Of Renault” has been performed live a few times by ALO, including plays last year in Felton and during a stop on the band’s current Tour d’Amour XV trek. Tour d’Amour XV resumes this weekend with a double-header at Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. ALO recently announced the theme for tonight’s show, featuring Anna Moss opening, is “The Quixotic Aquatic Soiree.” Tomorrow, the quartet will go it alone for “An Evening With ALO” with the theme “The Great American Sparkle Ball.”
