ALO Welcomes Anna Moss In West Hollywood & Solana Beach

ALO completed the first weekend of Tour d’Amour XV with concerts at The Troubadour in West Hollywood on Friday and at the Belly Up in Solana Beach on Saturday. Anna Moss opened both shows and joined the band at various points of the weekend.

Moss’ first appearance on Friday came towards the end of the first set. The multi-instrumentalist played saxophone and sang takes on Bobby Caldwell’s “What You Won’t Do For Love” and Grover Washington Jr.’s “Just The Two Of Us.” ALO’s second set started with an “All Alone” featuring a taste of Bob Marley’s “Sun Is Shining.” The quartet then debuted “Growing Your Hands Back,” a new original penned by Zach Gill. Next, Adam Topol joined ALO on percussion for a “Try” that incorporated a cover of My Morning Jacket’s The Waterfall II gem “Run It.” Moss returned later in the set to augment ALO, Topol and Tom Freund on the War classic “Why Can’t We Be Friends.”

Saturday’s concert at the Belly Up began with a career-spanning first set that included oldies “The Ticket” and “Pobrecito” as well as more recent material such as “Ridin'” and “Keep On Giving Jane.” The second set got underway with new original “Belief” and the beloved “Falling Dominoes.” Anna Moss then led the group through the Michael Jackson cover “Rock With You.” Moss returned to help ALO kick off the evening’s encore with “Kokomo” by The Beach Boys before the four-piece went it alone for “Divine Fall.”
