ALO capped their first weekend of 2021 concerts in front of live, in-person audiences on Sunday at Roaring Camp Railroads in Felton, California. The band was joined by old friend Trevor Garrod of Tea Leaf Green at the end of their second set.
Guitarist Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, multi-instrumentalist Zach Gill, bassist Steve Adams and drummer Ezra Lipp got the afternoon underway by covering Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day.” The quartet then played the oldie “Pobrecito” before performing “Not Old Yet” from 2015’s Tangle Of Time and more recently debuted original “Rewind.”

ALO returned to Tangle Of Time for “Man Of The World.” Next came “How Is This All Ending?,” a song from Magic In The Other — a trio featuring Lipp, Adams and guitarist Roger Riedlbauer. The four-piece worked Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere” within “How Is This All Ending?” and then closed the frame with new original “Legend Of Renault.”
Sunday’s second set began with the pairing of classics “Blew Out The Walls” and “Country Electro.” ALO then honored San Jose’s own The Doobie Brothers and the venue by covering “Long Train Runnin’.” More fan-favorites followed in “Girl, I Wanna Lay You Down,” “The Ticket” and “I Wanna Feel It.”
Garrod emerged towards the end of the frame for a typically extended “Barbeque.” Trevor helped out on keys for a version of “Barbeque” that ALO worked into and out of Three Dog Night’s “Shambala.” The quartet went at it alone to end the concert and weekend with an encore featuring “Undertow” and “A Fire I Kept.”
ALO resumes their run through California tonight at Castoro Cellars Winery in Templeton. Watch fan-shot video featuring “How Is This All Ending?” > “Everywhere” > “How Is This All Ending?” from Felton below:
