NPR Music shared Tiny Desk Contest winner Alisa Amador’s debut Tiny Desk Concert. The singer-songwriter delivered her winning entry “Milonga accidental” and more as the renowned performance video series returned to NPR Music chief Bob Boilen’s desk with an audience for the first time in more than two years.

Growing up in Boston, Maine, Puerto Rico and Argentina, Alisa Amador hails from a musical family with her parents performing in the band Sol y Canto. Rosi and Brian Amador were in attendance — along with a limited audience of masked NPR employees for COVID safety — as their daughter made her emotional Tiny Desk Concert debut.

Alisa, however, is no stranger to Tiny Desk having entered the contest every year since 2018. Along with opening her session with the aforementioned ”Milonga accidental” — featuring a string quartet — she closed out with “Together,” her 2020 Tiny Desk Contest entry. Additionally, Amador included her compositions “Timing” and “Slow Down” in the final three songs in her performance backed by guitarist/keyboardist Jamie Oshima, bassist Noah Harrington and drummer Jacob Thompson.
