Big Thief’s Adrianne Lenker Performs ‘Tiny Desk (Home) Concert’

Big Thief frontwoman Adrianne Lenker contributed a solo acoustic set to NPR Music’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert video series. Lenker performed five songs from her recently released songs album in a camper trailer located at Joshua Tree National Park.

Adrianne Lenker issued both songs and the companion LP, instrumentals, via 4AD last month. Lenker recorded the albums at a one room cabin located in the mountains of Western Massachusetts this past April after Big Thief’s tour was canceled in the wake of the pandemic.

The Tiny Desk (Home) Concert session features just Adrianne’s voice and guitar. She starts the set by pairing “zombie girl” and “two reverse” before using a paintbrush as a pick for “dragon eyes.” Next comes the pretty “anything” and then Lenker concludes her performance with “ingydar.”
