AC/DC Singer Guests With Billy Joel At Madison Square Garden
By Scott Bernstein Mar 21, 2014 • 7:30 pm PDT

Joel has a hard rock background dating back to his time in the ’70s as a member of Attila. Billy last performed with Johnson, as well as AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams, at a 2002 concert in Tampa. Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams guested on “Highway To Hell” that night. The Piano Man has gone on to play “Highway To Hell” 130 times since. The main set also saw Joel work The Beatles’s “A Hard Days Night” into “River Of Dreams.”
The other big “surprise” of the evening was the live debut of “Surprises” off 1982’s The Nylon Curtain. Joel’s band was augmented by a string section for the first performance of the 32-year-old song.
