AC/DC Returns To São Paulo’s Morumbi For 1st Time Since 2009: Comparing The Setlists

The band’s first Power Up Tour shows at MorumBIS featured 21 songs — including several rarities absent from their 2009 Black Ice Tour performance at the same venue.

AC/DC returned to São Paulo on February 24 for their first show in Brazil since November 27, 2009. Both concerts took place 17 years apart at the same venue, the +72,000 person capacity MorumBIS stadium (Estádio do Morumbi.

The 2026 dates are part of the band’s Power Up Tour, while the 2009 show was part of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Famers’ Black Ice Tour. The two setlists shared 12 songs: “Back in Black,” “Shot Down in Flames,” “Thunderstruck,” “Hells Bells,” “Shoot to Thrill,” “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap,” “You Shook Me All Night Long,” “Whole Lotta Rosie,” “Let There Be Rock,” “Highway to Hell,” “T.N.T.” and “For Those About to Rock (We Salute You).”

Seven songs from the 2009 setlist did not appear in 2026: “Rock N’ Roll Train,” “Hell Ain’t a Bad Place to Be,” “Big Jack,” “Black Ice,” “The Jack,” “War Machine” and “Dog Eat Dog.” The first four are drawn from their 2008 Black Ice album, which anchored the 2009 tour’s repertoire.

In their place, the 2026 show introduced nine songs not played in 2009: “If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It),” “Demon Fire,” “Have a Drink on Me,” “Shot in the Dark,” “Stiff Upper Lip,” “Sin City,” “High Voltage,” “Riff Raff” and the recently resurrected “Jailbreak.” “Demon Fire” and “Shot in the Dark” are drawn from AC/DC’s most recent studio album, 2020’s Power Up.

The lineup has also changed considerably between the two dates. The 2009 band consisted of Angus Young on lead guitar, Malcolm Young on rhythm guitar, Brian Johnson on lead vocals, Cliff Williams on bass and Phil Rudd on drums. The 2026 touring lineup retains Angus Young and Brian Johnson, with Stevie Young on rhythm guitar (replacing his uncle Malcolm Young, who died in 2017), Chris Chaney on bass and Matt Laug on drums.

AC/DC played the same setlist on night two (February 28) in São Paulo. The legendary band has one additional date scheduled at MorumBIS on Wednesday, March 4.
