AC/DC returned to their homeland to launch an Australian leg of their Power Up Tour with the first of two shows at Melbourne’s Cricket Ground. The legendary rockers augmented the setlist to include their first performance of “Jailbreak” in 34 years.
AC/DC’s current touring lineup includes co-founding member Angus Young on lead guitar and longtime vocalist Brian Johnson, with Stevie Young on rhythm guitar, Matt Laug on drums and Chris Chaney on bass.
Last played in November 1991 on The Razors Edge Tour, “Jailbreak” originally appeared on AC/DC’s 1976 album, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. The song was written by Angus Young, his late brother, AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young, and late former frontman Bon Scott.
AC/DC followed the jailbreaking of “Jailbreak” with the Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap title track.
The band’s home-country run continues on Sunday, November 16, with their second show at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Watch AC/DC break out “Jailbreak” from an audience member perspective below:
