Branford Marsalis To Guest With Dave Matthews Band

Dave Matthews Band’s current tour has seen the group welcome many old friends to share the stage including saxophonist Branford Marsalis who sat-in with the group in Raleigh last month. Marsalis will be DMB’s special guest again tonight at Xfinity Theatre in Hartford tonight.

Marsalis emerged in the middle of the electric, second set in Raleigh on May 22 to add saxophone to “Lover Lay Down,” “Typical Situation” and “Jimi Thing.” Branford had previously sat-in with the Dave Matthews Band twice -July 21, 2010 in Charlotte and December 12, 2012 in Raleigh. While the saxophonist had performed “Lover Lay Down” and “Jimi Thing” with DMB in the past, the Raleigh show was the first time he jammed on “Typical Situation” with the group.
