The Music Never Stopped Fare Thee Well Pre & Post Shows

Update June 10: New Orleans Jazz & Heritage radio station WWOZ 90.7 FM and Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart have announced The Music Never Stopped “Busted on Bourbon Street, A Journey to New Orleans” concert featuring Ivan Neville, Papa Mali, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Tony Hall, Willie Green and Marc “Buddha” Balsam on Thursday, July 2 at The Metro in Chicago. Tickets to the show are currently on sale with proceeds benefiting WWOZ.

Update May 12: Additional shows have been added to The Music Never Stopped lineup. On Saturday, July 4 The Werks and RAQ will team up for “Werkingman’s RAQ Attack” at 1st Ward / Chop Shop, while Particle will be performing that night at Lincoln Hall. Tickets for both shows go on sale Friday, May 15 at 11 a.m. CT.

The surviving “core four” members of the Grateful Dead will team with Trey Anastasio, Jeff Chimenti and Bruce Hornsby for a series of three Fare Thee Well shows at Soldier Field in Chicago over the Fourth of July weekend. Promoters Silver Wrapper and Madison House Presents have announced a series of pre-parties and late night shows set to coincide with Fare Thee Well under the moniker The Music Never Stopped.

On July 2 The Music Never Stopped shows include a Thievery Corporation performance at Aragon Ballroom and a Rex Foundation Benefit at Chicago Theatre as well as a Gene Ween with Mariachi El Bronx performance at Concord Music Hall. The Rex Foundation Benefit, titled “High Steppin’ Into Town,” will feature Greensky Bluegrass and Keller Williams’ Grateful Grass featuring The Infamous Stringdusters.

On July 3 The Music Never Stopped shows include Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros at Thalia Hall and Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe at Concord Music Hall. On July 4 The Music Never Stopped Shows include Railroad Earth at Concord Music Hall and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros at Thalia Hall. Finally, on July 5, Jennifer Hartswick will be the musical director for The Fiyawrapper All Star Jam at Concord Music Hall. Hartswick will be joined by the likes of Oteil Burbridge, Eric Krasno, David Shaw, Natalie Cressman, Jeremy Salken, Sput Searight and Borham Lee.
