Funk-rockers Kung Fu played a pair of Toys For Tots benefit concerts at Toad’s Place in New Haven back in December. The band was joined by many special guests for the second set on the first night to perform Steely Dan’s The Royal Scam album in its entirety. Videographer MKDevo has just unveiled incredible video of “The Fez” > “Green Earrings” from that December 19th show at Toad’s Place.

Steely Dan guitarist and musical director Jon Herington, drummer and one-time Steely Dan collaborator Bernard Purdie, keyboardist Jesse Gibbon, trombonist Rob Volo, trumpeter Mark Coronado and backing vocalists Christine Tambakis and Nicole Zuraitis all assisted Kung Fu in their performance of the Dan’s 1976 album. Watch MKDevo’s capture of “The Fez” > “Green Earrings”:

A crispy soundboard matrix recording of the entire Kung Fu show from December 19th featuring the Steely Dan tribute is available for streaming and downloading via Live Music Archive thanks to the efforts of MKDevo and Matt Vallo. Take a listen:
