Wilco Adds More Fall Shows

Earlier today we reported on Wilco’s announcement that they will play a pair of shows at The Ryman in Nashville, TN. There’s more on the horizon for Jeff Tweedy and Co. as The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY will host Wilco on October 28 and 29. In addition, the group will perform at The Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville, TN on October 23 and North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, NC on October 25.

Tickets for all newly-announced shows go on sale this Friday, Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. local times according to Wilco’s website. Wilco made their live debut at Cicero’s in St. Louis on November 17, 1994; so this fall marks the band’s 20th anniversary. While the sextet has been off the road in 2014, they return to the stage tomorrow night at the LC Pavilion in Columbus, OH.
Wilco has teamed with the venue, Ticketfly and HeadCount to support HeadCount’s #GoVote campaign at The Capitol Theatre on October 28 & 29. A portion of all ticket sales from these shows will be donated to the organization to help drive voter turnout for the mid-term elections this November. “This will make a huge difference as we gear up for the elections in November. We are running a big get out the vote initiative in the next two months. And every dollar translates into more people at the polls,” said Andy Bernstein, HeadCount Executive Director, in a press release. Ticketfly CEO Andrew Dreskin added, “It’s exciting for me both personally and professionally to partner with an organization that I love, a band that I love, and one of the most spectacular venues around.”
In other Wilco news, the band will appear on the October 27th episode of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and have announced two forthcoming releases – Wilco’s first-ever Best Of collection and a Rarities box. More details on each will be revealed soon, but a press release mentions the Rarities box will include tracks culled from studio outtakes, B-sides and live recordings.
