Taj was just one of the Allman guests over the course of the band’s two headlining sets at this past weekend’s Peach Music Festival. On Saturday, the band rolled through each and every song from their landmark Eat A Peach LP. Gov’t Mule keyboardist Danny Louis sat in on the “Ain’t Wasting Time No More” opener along with a cover of “That’s What Love Will Make You Do,” which kicked off an encore that also featured “Black Hearted Woman.”
On Sunday, the Allmans treated the festival crowd to a career-spanning set that drew from nearly every era. Taj was the evening’s first guest and he was followed saxophonist Ron Holloway lending a hand on “Soulshine.” Later in the set, Hungarian keyboardist Gabor Presser helped out on “Good Morning Little Schoolgirl,” while Gregg Allman Band keyboardist Pete Levin sat in on “Don’t Keep Me Wonderin'” and “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed.” The Allman Brothers Band closed out what is likely to be their last Peach Music Festival appearance with a “Whipping Post” encore.”
