Bruce Hornsby Covers Tupac Covering Bruce Hornsby

Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers kicked off a summer tour that features two new members -fiddle-mandolin player Ross Holmes and guitarist Gibb Droll -on Saturday night in Peachtree City, GA. Hornsby had a fun tribute in store for fans at the tour opener that combined one of his most-beloved compositions with a hip-hop song that sampled heavily from the tune.

In 1998 rapper Tupac released the massive hit “Changes,” which sampled heavily from Bruce Hornsby’s “The Way It Is.” On Saturday night Hornsby welcomed Nigel Emory, son of Noisemakers drummer Sonny Emory, to rap “Changes” as the intro to a stellar version of “The Way It Is.”

Next up for Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers is a visit to Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo, NC on Thursday night.
