Sometimes we get a little subtle here at the RecommNeds when all anyone really wants is some rock and roll. If that’s the case, why not get acquainted with one of the best straight-up rock and roll albums of 2013? The Business have really hit their groove with their latest, Essential Tremors, a glorious, blazing album with just enough swing to complement the full-fury rockin’.

The Quick & Easy Boys –Make It Easy

No, no, don’t stop a-rockin’! The Quick & Easy Boys are an up-and-coming power trio out of Portland, OR that are well worth a listen. I know, I know, you’re thinking Portland = esoteric and weird and maybe cellos, but these guys are just fun rock and roll with a sense of freedom to genre-bend and take a few left turns along the way. These guys are on the sorely underdiscovered list, so be the first one on your block to crank up some Easy. I’d start with “Without You,” an addictive guitar riff with some tasty Jagger classic-rock falsetto.
