Video Shows How Phish Made It Rain At Madison Square Garden

Vermont jam quartet Phish teamed with David Gallo Design to pull off a breath-taking end to 2016 and start to 2017 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. David Gallo Design has shared storyboards and videos showing the process that went into the stunning visuals that accompanied “Petrichor” and beyond on Saturday night.

To review, at the start of the third set a group of dancers paraded at the front of the stage as Phish and their guests made their way through “Petrichor.” Some of the dancers, dressed in suites, juggled umbrellas as faux rain fell from a top the stage. The dancers pulled off a choreographed routine and when they eventually left the stage, umbrellas tethered to lines at the top of the stage did the dancing. Watch a rehearsal of the routine:
