Hopscotch Music Fest: Speakers, Panels, & Lineup

In addition to the amazing line-up of performers, Hopscotch Music Festival is also hosting a speakers series at the Raleigh City Museum during the festival. The Thursday panel is titled North Carolina’s Musical Heritage: Past, Present and Future, Friday’s panel is called Black Mountain College: Legacy and Inspiration, and the concluding Saturday panel looks at Hip-Hop Planet: Music and Its Work in the World. One of the highlights is Andrew Whiteman from Broken Social Scene will be reading poetry from his forthcoming poetry book.
Also involved are 9th Wonder, Spin and Village Voice writer Christopher R. Weingarten, Dolph Ramseur of Ramseur Records, Phil Cook of Megafaun and Charlie Smarts of Kooley High, with more panelists to be added as Hopscotch Music Festival approaches.
