A LITTLE ELEMENTAL FUN FOR YOUR WEEKEND

Tomorrow is Earth Wind & Fire bassist Verdine White‘s 59th birthday. A dancing, leaping mainstay of EWF since the beginning, he’s both a stellar musician and a top tier showman. And the rest of his band is still smoking hot many decades on. Happy birthday, Verdine. You’ve put more backfields in motion than almost any man alive!

We begin with one of the definitive Beatles covers from the infamous 70s Sgt. Pepper movie. EWF know how to make an entrance.

Next, a section of a sweet documentary about EWF with some great vintage footage of Verdine in hopping action as he and the others discuss the early days of the band.

Ah damn, nobody makes slow jams like this no more!

A happiness injection that we encourage you to just get up and move to. It makes the world a better place when people dance.

“Thank you all for being out of sight. Good morning, y’all” Nice way to greet an audience, and even nicer when they dig into jazz-infused funkin’ of the first order.

We bid y’all adieu with another early EWF classic.
