The Dead Weather Announce First Ever Tour
Album Release Date Update: Horehound released July 14

The Dead Weather
The Dead Weather have confirmed dates for their first ever tour, kicking off in Louisville, Kentucky on June 11. The dirge rock four-piece, consisting of celebrated musicians Dean Fertita (Queens Of The Stone Age), “Little” Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs, The Greenhornes), Alison Mosshart (The Kills) & Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs), have already won critical acclaim for their recent spirited live performances in Nashville and New York City.

The band’s debut album Horehound, the first record to be recorded and released via Jack White’s new Third Man studios and record label in Nashville, TN, will be made available through Third Man/Warner Bros Records on July 14 2009. To date, The Dead Weather have released two tracks via iTunes and on limited edition 7″ vinyl: “Hang You From The Heavens” and “Are Friends Electric?”

Limited pre-sale tickets will be available starting Wednesday, May 13 at 12 noon EST by visiting thedeadweather.com. Those fans purchasing pre-sale tickets will also have the opportunity to pre-order the full-length album, Horehound, at a discounted price.

Some early praise for The Dead Weather:

“The 11 songs on the album… are spare and sexy, with the vocals often distorted or submerged beneath grinding, snaky rhythms.” –The New York Times

“…(a) bluesy blend of psych-rock guitar, alternately stark and explosive rhythms and Mosshart’s sultry-to-siren vocal…” –Rolling Stone
