"Overally it was great though. a little dissapointed on the music though."

I realize there is something to be said about the crowd, but still, the music is practically everything! I hope the music gets better by the time they come to Denver

I think you're all crazy. Space, especially the parts with Jeff sitting in on drums, have been some of the best music played in any of the shows yet. I would love to get stuck in space for over a hour...

rastarusty, i hear ya about space. it took me down and i never managed to get back to the level i was at during the first set. worst dead, phil, or ratdog show i've ever seen. space just plain sucked and was the entire 2nd set. and yes the wooks were out in full force and brought a lot of negative vibes to the lot. saw a couple fights. i hate wooks.

the music was awesome! warren is so much better integrated into the dead right now. when i've seen him with phil and friends or the dead before he brought more of the mule style and it didn't really fit. kinda like "the warren haynes show (featuring phil lesh)". but no more! he was right into the jams and didn't overpower at all. west l.a. fadeaway was ridiculous, as was sugaree (warren's time to shine). as far as the setlist, while it wouldn't be one i would have put together as a dream show, i was surprised and excited to see the directions it went. i really enjoyed the long other one>drums>space, which isn't always my favorite. me and my buddy kept saying "here it comes... morning dew!" or "st. stephen- watch!" so much fun! and like rusty said, we ended up on the floor too, getting our faces melted by nfa!

i was trying to stay positive. Some people were out of control, most werent. Secrity and the police were very chill. The only people who had cop issues were people you decided to drive after the show that shouldnt have, not smart when there police all over the city waiting.

I mean i still met alot of cool people walking around and down around shakedown. They sounded good, they just over jammed in parts. At the end there jam was building and really gooing somewhere, it had energy, and everyone was goin nuts. i was just hoping for a little more. Still early on.

Its the last tour, i would say its def worth while.

this was an amazing show, i dont know see where they're half as bad as everybody else thinks, the boys are all primed and ready to roll. space was dragged out a little long and had most people sitting down but throwing stones picked us all back up, it was cooking. the 1st set was unbelievable. bob was great all night despite numerous tech problems. killer l.a. fadeaway and brown-eyed women

Jokerman i didnt see the fights, i hoped that everything stayed mellow. I guess that cant happen these days. I had all this energy when space started, and i tried to keep going and itd be like somethings gonnna happen, but never did. by the time it wnt into somethin i was completely beat and had no energy for anything at the end.

i wonder how far over capacity that place was. I saw people runnin in all night.

watch out for people puking too

Did shakedown get sketchy later at night? We didnt hang around there long after the show ended

i def saw a fight on shakedown after the show. it seemed like one wook said something about another wook's wookie girlfriend. hahaha really thats what went down. tons of people broke it up...i just kept my distance... some of those characters are really shady and probably carry knifes or guns.

I love the dead just as much as the next guy, but does anyone else find it a little rediculous that they all have teleprompters now? I mean phil has had his for years, but I just pegged that on him gettin old. now bob and warren as well? arent they supposed to be professionals? anyone here can rip on umphreys and bisco as much as they want to for all I care, but at least they do indeed have their own songs memorized. just comes off a tad lazy...

the prompters...though they may seem lame make for a tighter show.....if they're not constantly touring it's hard to be tight...and seeing as they're charging $100 bucks no matter where you sit, you may what to hear a tight show, no? so i actually think it's a good thing....it kept PLF on track, and after seeing one of the last"dead" tours a few years ago, they needed some fine tuning. But i can't bxxxh too bad just hooked up with 1/2 price tickets for hartford...and I'm listening to worcester live on sirius right now...sounds much better than i thought it would.

If I lived back in NY, this would've been the show for me...Damn, this show looks amazing! Even though I'm pissed about tix prices and their recent View appearance, it'd still be great to see the boys again. I mean, Viola Lee Blues (My Personal Fav) and The Other One, everytime they do Upstate, it's always special: "Vernon Downs 2003." They always seem to play the good stuff when I'm not there, but they do play great songs when I am there, so it's a win/lose...just once I want Eyes Of The World, but I always seem to miss it.

Warren is the man. If he needs a telepromter to remember all of the Allmans and the Dead and Mule and god knows what covers then I dont think that makes him less professional I think it makes him willing to take chances and isn't that really the spirit of the music

The long space was due to problems with Phil's monitor and Bobby's pedals! Either way, it was welcomed from my vantage point!! :-)

I figured out Bobby's deal, not long ago, maybe it was the Other Ones with Hornsby (maybe it was 80 NYC, slow Friend!) but he discovered that playing the same "non-jammed out" songs after like 20, 30, (45!) years the same old way every single time was just plain boring, so he stole a page from Dylan-PLAY IT AS A BLUES! Slow it waaaay down. The problem is unless carefully practiced as a blues, it can cause the band to train wreck with missed cues and the perception of forgotten lyrics.

Obama is best friends with the teleprompter, and The Dead is in love with Obama. They probably borrowed Lord Barack's leftover screens after his recent America Apologizes Tour of Europe.

Complaining about teleprompters! These guys are in their 60's and have a over 150 songs in the rotation for this tour. I bet all the complainers never even saw Jerry. This show was hot, Sugaree>Other One was ridiculous, the energy was through the roof, definitely not mailed in, Haters get a clue and stay away.

I wrote my personal review of the Albany show over on the music blog I contribute to www.phishcoventry.blogspot.com. Come waste some time with us

for TraverJ. Warren sang Into the Mystic its a Van Morrison Song. He also sang Sugaree. I think they traded verses on a few songs West LA FadeAway and Cold Rain and Snow I think. Phil of course did Viola Lee Blues and Unbroken Chain. Bobby on Minglewood and Throwin Stones and NFA.

Somewhere I saw a worcester song posted as Jelly roll blues and a poster asking is that a new song?. No, name of song is Duprees Diamond Blues. David Aron was streaming last nights worcester show over on his site. Sounded pretty good from what I heard.

$100 for that?? looks so mediocre at best from the setlist. only 6-7 songs each set with a long space?? doesn't look like a good value or good show to me.

this show had it's moments but their was entirely way to much space in the songs and between the songs. Could have used some more energy..awesome lot scene though. Mafia was charging 10 a balloon...don't support them!!!

West LA-Browan Eyed Women. and Sugaree-The Other One were easily worth the price of admission. Warren was unbelieveable on Sugaree (soloing and vocally) Energy was fantastic at that point.

Lighting rig wasnt too impressive imo.

ok wasnt gonna do it, but I cant help myself...Bobby sucks. sorry.

Bitched about his set up, singing sucked, any moment where the jam fell off it was his wailing that did it. Look at the Worcester review for pics of warren giving him the "what the hell is he doing now" look. That pretty much sums it all up. all night Warren had to salvage Bobby's crap.

alot of people were saying anyone who didnt like the space was tripping hard enough. It was spac in general, it was the length and lack of anything to it.If they had kept the energy through the whole who it would have been alot better. the end really started get hot, people were goin nuts on the floor.

If space was shorter they could have fit in a least a few more songs. You could have still had half hour space. im suprised noones dance off a balcony yet.
