SXSW: Mother Hips, Rotary, Cortez

Electronic Musician (Magazine) Showcase – Thursday, March 19

Electronic Musician is sponsoring an afternoon music showcase featuring up-and-coming bands from around the country in the middle of the South By Southwest Music Conference, Thursday March 19, 2009. The showcase will be held at Austin's Habana Calle 6 (709 E 6th St., Austin, TX). Music begins on two stages at 12:15 p.m. and admission is FREE.

"We are proud to sponsor such amazing, eclectic musicians from around the country for this event," said Electronic Music, Mix Magazine and Remix Magazine Publisher Joanne Zola. "There are a lot of events throughout the week at SXSW, but this showcase of talent is definitely not to be missed. We hope music fans will find their way to Habana Calle 6 at some point on the 19th."

Habana Calle 6 is located in the heart of downtown Austin, and will be providing two stages of music throughout the day. Batter Blaster, an event co-sponsor, will be cooking up fresh, FREE pancakes and waffles throughout the day!

Yeah it is, but there are still a crap load of free show with free booze. You can't beat that! I'm still debating if I am going to grab a wristband this year or just hit up the free stuff.

how can you even try to compare sxsw to a regular music festival? if you have been you know that the layout couldnt be more opposite than a real festy. all about discovery
