Empire State Building Lights To Be Synced To Steely Dan Song

For those in the NYC area we suggest you look towards the Empire State Building at 7 p.m. while tuning in to 101.1 WCBS on your FM dial or via the internet. Famed lighting designer Marc Brickman has programmed a special light show for the lights a top the Empire State Building that will be synced to the soundtrack of Steely Dan’s 1978 smash “FM (No Static At All).”
Why “FM?” Today marks the 50th anniversary of the installation of a Master FM Antenna on the top of the Empire State Building. DJ Scott Shannon has put together an intro that will air leading up to the 7 p.m. ET premiere of the “FM (No Static At All)” light show. We’ll be sure to update this post with video of the display as soon as it surfaces.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbE8tLWW81sOn July 4 the Empire State Building’s lights were synced to coincide with a performance of “U.S. Blues” that took place at the same time in Chicago by members of the Grateful Dead, Trey Anastasio, Jeff Chimenti and Bruce Hornsby. Watch how that went down:
