“The years just keep sliding by, don’t they, you ever notice that?”
We thoroughly enjoy trips down memory lane here at JamBase and the popularity of Throwback Thursday gives us a great excuse every single week. Today we’re happy to publish our second-ever edition of #tbt: 5-10-15-20.

Since today’s date is July 3rd, we plugged the day into the Live Music Archive search for 2009, 2004, 1999 and 1994. Unsurprisingly, we have plenty to work with, this time featuring mostly festival dates. So below, feast your ears on happenings in the world of live music on this date in history at five year intervals.
2009 : String Cheese Incident at The Rothbury Festival in Rothbury, CO.
String Cheese Incident delivered two sets and an encore (joined by Keller Williams) at Rothbury five years ago today.
2004: moe. at High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, CA.
A decade ago, moe. played this jam-heavy set complete with an encore of “The Weight” with a little help from Vince Herman of Leftover Salmon on vocals.
1999: Phil Lesh & Friends at The Warfield in San Francisco, CA.
One of the first Phil & Friends shows ever features Billy Kreutzmann, David Nelson, Mookie Siegel, Barry Sless and Steve Kimock. The show starts on a comical note with Phil reading a poem/joke with a great bass player punchline.
1994: God Street Wine at Chaffee Residence in Girard, PA.
It’s not just Grateful Dead shows that pop up on The Live Music Archive for searches in 1994, other gems like this early show from God Street Wine pop up too!
