Jerry Joseph has sat in with Widespread Panic dozens of times since 1990 and the band has covered seven of Joseph’s songs for their studio albums. Last night’s show at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall also featured covers of The Yardbirds’s “Drinking Muddy Water,” Alan Price’s “Sell Sell” and “Travelin’ Light” by J.J. Cale. The end of Wednesday night’s second set saw Panic insert “Bust It Big” and a “Drums” segment in the middle of “Fishwater.” The Georgia rockers now head to the Bay Area for a pair of shows at Oakland’s Fox Theater.
