In a story that should warm your heart this holiday season, Stanley Roberts, a news reporter for Bay Area station KRON recently reunited guitarist Carlos Santana with former Santana Blues Band mate Marcus “The Magnificent” Malone. Roberts found Malone, a percussionist in the Santana Blues Band, living on the streets of East Oakland picking through trash and arranged the tear-jerking reunion.

Watch the meeting between Malone and Santana:

Santana has offered Malone an apartment and clothes and has also aimed to record with Malone and the entire original Santana Blues Band. “I want to offer my brother Marcus Malone an opportunity to record on the next album with the original band, with Greg Rolie,” Santana told KRON. ” We wrote a song for him called ‘Magnificent Marcus Malone.’ We want him to play on it and we’re going to start, Lord willing, in January or February. So I would like to get him some congas so he can get his hands hard again because he hasn’t been playing the congas in a while.”
