The Bridge Album & Tour

THE BRIDGE Signs With HYENA Records
Set To Release Self-Titled Album In Midst of U.S. Fall Tour

The Bridge
Baltimore-based grassroots phenoms The Bridge have signed with HYENA Records. The band's self-titled studio album will be released on October 23 in the midst of a coast to coast U.S. Fall tour. Forming out of Baltimore, The Bridge's roots date back to 2001 when guitarist, vocalist and principle songwriter Cris Jacobs decided to forego the traditional expectations of his University of Amherst degree and pursue music full time. Upon reuniting with high school friend Kenny Liner (who'd recently returned from a stint living in Hawaii where he learned mandolin), the two found an immediate chemistry playing music together. They'd solidify the band's core line-up with the addition of saxophonist Patrick Rainey, bassist Dave Markowitz and drummer Mike Gambone. The Bridge has since blossomed into a national touring act with a devoted fan-base, veteran status on the Summer festival circuit and a steadily growing buzz around the U.S.

as an east coaster whose been out west for a year now, I cannot wait for the two nights (portland and seattle) I get to see The Bridge w/Lotus. i remember multiple nights at the 8X10/Funk Box in Baltimore with both bands over the past few years. its good to see two mid-atlantic bands join forces to take on a dreary west coast scene. DROP THE BEAT!!

the hype is just too much for what these guys deliver....nothing really groundbreaking here and for jambase to have 2 articles in 1 day on these guys is just crazy.

The bridge is southernish funky rock type stuff with mandolin and occassionally sick beatboxing which adds this whole other element. Just check 'em out if they roll through your town gmoo, or check archive, I am pretty sure they are on there. I would have to say, from the shows I have seen, these guys certainly do deliver, and have real potential to do some groundbreaking shit. Thats just my 2 cents

Bottom line is that The Bridge is blowing up. See 'em in smaller places while you can.

When I seen them they played a cover of Whipping Post and Walking Blues. Great songs but they play their original songs better. It was a good show. These guys are a real rock and rollers.
