Christine McVie Guests With Fleetwood Mac In London

Ever since Christine McVie “retired” from Fleetwood Mac in 1998, she hadn’t shared the stage with her old band mates. Last night McVie broke that 15-year streak when she sat in with Fleetwood Mac on the 1977 hit “Don’t Stop” at the 02 Arena in London.

McVie had recently promised her old mates that she would appear for one song at a pair of shows on their current tour, with yesterday’s performance fulfilling the first part of that promise. The British native joined Fleetwood Mac in 1970 and stayed with the group through their commercial heyday until leaving just after the completion of a massive world tour in 1998. McVie wasn’t the only former member of Fleetwood Mac at the 02 last night as founding member Peter Green was in the audience. The Mac’s Stevie Nicks dedicated “Landslide” to Green.
