One of the more unlikely recent pairings finds Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl producing the Zac Brown Band. We won’t have to wait long to hear the fruits of this collaboration as the ZBB will release The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1 via their own Southern Ground Artists label on December 10.

The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1 contains the studio version of “Day For The Dead,” which the band debuted with Grohl on drums at the Country Music Awards as well as “All Alright,” “Let It Rain” and a cover of The Wood Brothers’ “Muse.” The traditional ZBB lineup is augmented by Grohl on drums and Allman Brothers Band bassist Oteil Burbridge on the new release, which will be available on iTunes.

“Dave is a musical genius,” said ZBB frontman Zac Brown in a statement. “It’s been amazing to play with him on stage and get to spend time working with him in the studio. We are excited for fans to hear the music we’ve been able to create together.”
