Yonder Mountain String Band Covers Pink Floyd’s ‘Goodbye Blue Sky’

Yonder Mountain String Band shared a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Goodbye Blue Sky.” The quarantine style video sees all five YMSB members performing from different locales.

“Goodbye Blue Sky” originally appears on Pink Floyd’s iconic 1979 album, The Wall. The eerily beautiful tune originally represented the bombing of England during World War II and its aftermath but has become emblematic of turbulent times. Yonder’s version is pretty true to the original, with Ben Kaufmann adding that distinctive bowed double bass.
