Yet Another Progress Report On First New Tool Album In Over Ten Years

Before we start, we urge you to take the following with a grain of salt. Tool fans have been tortured with news about the band’s first album since 2006’s 10,000 Days over the past few years and there’s still no LP to show for it. That said, perhaps we’re getting closer? As Loudwire notes, a post on the official Tool website from the band’s webmaster contains promising news about Tool LP5.
The webmaster recently met with Tool drummer Danny Carey and when quizzed about the progress of the new album Carey responded “Good!” and “that they were very close to knocking out another tune, and that as soon as it was finished, they would send a recording of it to [Tool frontman] Maynard [James Keenan].” There’s word circulating Tool is working on a song with unique time signatures and when the webmaster asked Danny if this was the song in question the drummer revealed “they had already finished the music on that one.” The really good news is the Tool is “grinding away on new material four days a week and would be back at it later this week.”
For now, it’s been 3,747 days since the release of 10,000 Days.
