Complete Woodstock 1969 Concert To Be Replayed By WXPN
By Andy Kahn Aug 9, 2019 • 8:31 am PDT

A recording of the entire Woodstock 1969 festival will be replayed in its entirety exactly 50 years after the legendary event. Woodstock — As It Happened — 50 Years On will be presented by Philadelphia-based public radio station WXPN on the anniversary of the festival, August 15 – 18.
The replay will present Woodstock “as it happened” at Max Yasgur’s farm in Upstate New York. The broadcast will begin on Thursday, August 15 at 5:07 p.m. ET with Richie Havens’ opening set, syncing with the start of the festival 50 years prior. The minute-by-minute replay will present the festival as it unfolded, including the “festival’s stage announcements, and even the breaks between artist sets, when bad weather stopped the original concert, to stay in sync with the timing and length of the original event.”
Janis Joplin, The Who, Grateful Dead, Santana, Jefferson Airplane, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and the rest of the 32 legendary performances will be part of the replay, which is possible in part due to Rhino Entertainment’s upcoming Back To The Garden Woodstock 50th anniversary collection.
WXPN can be streamed online and heard over the air in the Philadelphia area on 88.5FM. View the approximate replay schedule below:
