Nottingham Park in Avon, Colorado will host the fourth annual WinterWonderGrass Colorado February 19 – 21. Festival organizers have announced the 2nd Annual WinterWonderGrass Kick Off Party at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, Colorado on Thursday, February 18 celebrating music, arts and local Colorado brews.
Portland, Oregon’s own Fruition will headline this year’s WinterWonderGrass Kick Off Party. They will be joined by the WinterWonderGrass Allstars including Peter Rowan and members of Leftover Salmon. North Carolina bluegrass and folk duo Mandolin Orange will open the festivities. In addition to the music, the evening will include a curated photo gallery in the lobby of the VPAC with autographed photos from past WinterWonderGrass festivals. The photographs will be included in a silent auction of which proceeds will be donated to the music program at the Education Foundation of Eagle County (EFAC). Plus, attendees can partake in WinterWonderGrass Festival Brews from Great Divide Brewing Co. and Crazy Mountain Brewing Co.
“Once again we are excited to partner with the Vilar Performing Arts Centers, one of the most beautiful rooms in the country. The VPAC has been dedicated to bringing world class music and events to the Valley and we feel nothing says that better then hosting a kick off to WinterWonderGrass with some of our biggest names. In the spirit of WWG we will be hosting a pretty loose musical gathering to inspire collaboration among members of Leftover Salmon, Peter Rowan, Fruition and what is sure to be some very special guests. We look forward to this intimate pre-festival gathering to meet and greet our fans, friends, family and artists!” said founder and creator of WinterWonderGrass, Scott Stoughton.
WinterWonderGrass Colorado will feature two nights of Greensky Bluegrass. The Wood Brothers, Nahko & Medicine For The People, The Travelin’ McCourys, Peter Rowan & Friends and Fruition are among the other acts on the bill. Tickets for both the festival and the Kick Off Party are available via WinterWonderGrass.com. WinterWonderGrass California goes down near Lake Tahoe in Squaw Valley, California April 1 – 3. Railroad Earth and Greensky will headline WinterWonderGrass California with Leftover Salmon, Les Claypool’s Duo de Twang, Elephant Revival, The Travelin’ McCourys and Brothers Comatose among the other acts on the bill.
