The Willie Nelson camp shared some great news today. The iconic musician has been cleared by doctors to get on the road again.
Just ahead of the Outlaw Music Festival kickoff near Atlanta last week, the news came down that Nelson was not “feeling well” and needed to take a few days to recover. While he will not perform for the Outlaw Music Festival stops this weekend, Willie will return to the traveling festival next week. Read the social media announcement below:
As the post noted, Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss and Celisse will perform at the Outlaw stops in Syracuse, New York (tonight), Wantagh, New York on Saturday and Holmdel, New Jersey on Sunday. Willie’s son Lukas Nelson has been filling in for his father on the tour since it kicked off near Atlanta last Friday and will do the same this weekend.
Lukas has brought out a number of special guests on the tour including Susan Tedeschi/Derek Trucks and Sierra Ferrell. The first Outlaw stop next week takes place at Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts on July 2 ahead of Willie’s 4th of July Picnic celebration in Philadelphia.
