The 2016 Wildwood Revival will be held August 26 – 28 at Cloverleaf Farm in Arnoldsville, Georgia. Organizers of the third annual event have revealed the first slate of acts heading to the 30-acre farm near Athens this summer.
Headlining the three-day festival will be Gillian Welch, The Lone Bellow and Houndmouth. Other acts revealed as part of the initial announcement included Hackensaw Boys, Legendary Shack Shakers, Lost Bayou Ramblers, J.P. Harris, Athens Cowboy Choir and several others. More performers are expected to be added to the lineup.
“One of our goals with Wildwood Revival is to ‘revive community’ as well as support the style of music and makers who are bringing back the sounds and craftsmanship of older times,” said festival co-founder Libby Rose. “We wanted to take the feeling you get from visiting places like small town juke joints, honky tonks, farmers markets, swap meets, front porch parties and supper clubs and bring those elements to the farm in the form of a festival.”
Organizers are aiming for a “plastic-free” festival that will also feature yoga classes, wiffle ball games, farm-to-table brunches, an artisan market, craft beer served in mason jars, nighttime dance parties, sing-a-longs and more. Tickets, including VIP packages, are currently on sale via the festival’s website.
