Wilco guitarist Nels Cline tested positive for COVID-19 this morning. Cline revealed the news on his social feeds and noted his bandmates will continue their current tour of Europe without him while he recovers. “A variation in the concert presentation is being devised (skillfully and ultra-musically, I am certain) as the juggernaut moves through Spain, and I encourage any/all who intend to absorb Jeff’s marvelous songs + those Wilcoid elements to attend the upcoming recitals,” Cline wrote.

The Nels-less Wilco will next take the stage tomorrow (Tuesday, June 21) in Zaragoza, Spain. The group’s swing through Spain will then continue in Barcelona on Wednesday, Burjassot on Friday, Murcia on Saturday and Madrid next Monday, June 27.

Cline described his symptoms as “mild” and “rather like a nattering cold.” The guitarist said he “intend(s) to be back rocking with my beloved Wilco brethren and Wilcrew very soon.”
