Wilco summoned fellow Sky Blue Sky 2026 performers MJ Lenderman and Dinosaur Jr.’s J Mascis for separate sit-ins last night. Lenderman added an extra guitar to Wilco’s “Outta Mind (Outta Sight)” and Mascis joined the band on a Neil Young cover.
Lenderman emerged at the start of the encore. While Lenderman got situated on stage, Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy told the destination event crowd that the band needed to bring out someone who “knows one of our songs.” The song Lenderman knew was “Outta Mind (Outta Sight)” from Wilco’s 1996 sophomore album, Being There.
Tweedy complimented Mascis for “sounding fucking great earlier” during Dinosaur Jr.’s Sky Blue Sky set. A 13-minute version of Neil Young’s “Cortez The Killer” then unfolded, with Mascis’ guitar lines interweaving with Wilco’s master shredder Nels Cline.
Mascis also covered Neil Young’s “Lotta Love” during MJ Lenderman & The Wind’s performance at Sky Blue Sky. Watch video footage of the collabs below:
