Wilco shows off their legendary loft and numerous Chicago landmarks in the video for “Everyone Hides,” the latest single off the band’s forthcoming Ode To Joy album. The band, who will release Ode To Joy via their dBpm Records label on October 4, also announced a residency in Chicago and a three-night stand in St. Paul.

The group’s 2019 “Winterlude” will be held at the Chicago Theatre December 15, 16, 18 and 19. Wilco will play the Palace Theatre in St. Paul before the hometown shows on November 22 – 24. Tickets for the Chicago and St. Paul runs go on sale this Friday, September 20.

“Everyone Hides” is the second single off Ode To Joy following “Love Is Everywhere (Beware).” In a scene straight out of The Monkees, the video starts with the band performing at the Loft when Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy engages in a game of hide-and-seek with his mates. Viewers are then taken on a tour of Chicago.

“‘Everyone Hides’ is the first promotional video to feature Wilco as a living breathing band of humans in close to 20 years,” explained Tweedy. “Maybe for obvious reasons we’ve avoided putting ourselves forward in this way and have tried to play to our strengths musically or, I don’t know, maybe we’ve just been lazy… Or suspicious of expenditures outside of our focus on album making. For whatever reason this time around we just said f**k it and had a blast.”
