Widespread Panic Welcomes Galactic Members In Lincoln

Widespread Panic’s summer tour has been filled with interesting setlists, bustouts and guest appearances from the likes of Maggie Koerner and members of Galactic as well as Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi of the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Last night at the Pinewood Bowl in Lincoln, NE all of those trends continued during Panic’s lone, extended set in the heartland.

Galactic kicked off the show and then once again a few members of the band, and their special guest Maggie Koerner, joined Widespread Panic for a pair of tunes. The Georgia rockers’ 114-minute set came to a close with the band’s first cover of “House Of The Rising Sun” since November 23, 2001 and their own “Up All Night,” both of which featured Koerner, Ben Ellman and Corey Henry. Koerner and John Bell engaged in a stirring duet for “House Of The Rising Sun.” Take a listen to an audience recording of “House Of The Rising Sun” captured by Sam Darrow:
