Widespread Panic Announces September 2025 Run At New Richmond Venue

The band co-founded by Richmond native Dave Schools will play the Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront on September 12 and 13.

Widespread Panic will perform at the soon-to-open Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront in Richmond, Virginia on September 12 and 13. The two-night stand marks the band’s first shows in bassist Dave Schools' hometown since 2016.

Located on historic Tredegar Street alongside the James River, the 7,500-capacity Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront will start hosting concerts in June. Dispatch, Dave Matthews Band, Neil Young, James Taylor, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and Alison Krauss & Union Station are among the artists featured alongside Widespread Panic on the new venue’s 2025 schedule.

Widespread Panic made their Richmond debut on March 30, 1987 at New Horizons as per EverydayCompanion.com. The band has performed in Schools’ hometown over 25 times since with their most recent outdoor concert in the city played on September 10, 1995 at Brown’s Island Park.

Tickets for both shows go on sale this Friday, May 9 at 10 a.m. ET.
