Widespread Panic shared pro-shot video of their cover of Tom Petty’s “Runnin’ Down A Dream.” WSP captured the clip on June 23, 2023 at Red Rocks.
Panic debuted “Runnin’ Down A Dream” on October 29, 2022, five years after Tom Petty’s untimely death, during a “dreamy” concert for their Halloween run in Savannah, Georgia, as per Everyday Companion. The song originally appeared on Petty’s 1989 debut solo album, Full Moon Fever.
WSP closed the first concert of their three-night 2023 Red Rocks run with “Runnin’ Down A Dream.” It came as part of “dreamy” encore which also included Talking Heads’ “City Of Dreams.” Watch Widespread Panic perform Tom Petty’s “Runnin’ Down A Dream” for just the fifth time overall at Red Rocks below:
