Widespread Panic issued their first new studio track in five years, “Sundown Betty.” The song is part of a split-single with a live version of “I Swear It Wasn’t Me” as the B-side. Additionally, the band revealed this weekend’s Never Miss A Sunday Show broadcast will feature official video of their Halloween 2008 concert in New Orleans.
“Sundown Betty” was recorded in the sextet’s hometown of Athens at John Keane Studios. Widespread Panic debuted the song live on January 29, 2018 at Panic En La Playa in Riviera Maya, Mexico and it’s been in regular rotation ever since. “I Swear It Wasn’t Me” comes from the band’s January 25, 2015 Panic En La Playa concert in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and hasn’t been performed again since. John Keane handled remixing and remastering duties.
