Widespread Panic wrapped up their three-night run at the Township Auditorium in Columbia, South Carolina on Sunday. The band treated fans to a concert made of songs from the Michael Houser era.

The night previous saw WSP delivering an all cover first set and all original second. Panic kicked things off on Sunday with a cover, The Guess Who’s “No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature,” followed by “Space Wrangler” and Neil Young’s “Don’t Be Denied.” “Wondering” then launched a three-song seamless section that also contained “Hatfield” and “Rock.” Next, “Jack” proceeded first set closer “Conrad.”

Frontman John Bell then led the way on a rowdy rendition of Tom Waits’ “Goin’ Out West” to begin the second set. The song saw some shred from guitarist Jimmy Herring and a vibey groove outro capped off with piano from JoJo Hermann. WSP then embarked on an extensive continuous section beginning with “One Arm Steve” before the band headed through “Pleas” and Jerry Joseph’s “Climb To Safety.”

The band kept segueing with “Tie Your Shoes” encompassing “Blight,” marking the first time “Blight” was sandwiched in “Tie Your Shoes,” as per Panic Stream. The subsequent jam saw teases of Little Feat’s “Spanish Moon” and Funkadelic’s “Hit It and Quit It.” The Muddy Waters/Professor Longhair composition “Red Beans” wrapped up the seamless section. “Pigeons” counted as the penultimate song of the second set ahead of “Ain’t Life Grand” to close. Talking Heads’ “City Of Dreams” began the encore before WSP closed out the evening and run with “Action Man.”
