Widespread Panic Shares Tribute To Leonard Cohen

Yesterday we learned of the passing of one of the greatest songwriters of all-time, Leonard Cohen. Tributes have been pouring in from around the globe and from every corner of the music world. The jam scene features a number of acts inspired by the Canadian poet and singer-songwriter including Georgia rockers Widespread Panic.

Widespread Panic has covered a handful of Leonard Cohen songs in recent years. On April 16, 2011 the band unveiled their take on Leonard’s “That Don’t Make It Junk” and performed it again three more times before it was shelved in 2012. This past New Year’s Eve WSP debuted four covers and two of the tunes were penned by Leonard Cohen. John Bell & Co. ended their first set on December 31, 2015 at the Fox Theater in Atlanta with two beloved Cohen tunes: “First We Take Manhattan” and “Hallelujah.”
