Widespread Panic Dusts Off JJ Cale & Joe Cocker Covers In St. Augustine

Widespread Panic’s three-night run at St. Augustine Amphitheatre in St. Augustine, Florida continued on Saturday night. WSP unveiled a pair of covers during the encore including Joe Cocker’s “High Time We Went” and J.J. Cale’s “Cocaine,” the latter of which made its first appearance in nearly six years since Halloween 2013.

The show kicked off with a “Good People” sandwich that included “Dark Bar” in the middle. “Space Wrangler” then launched a run of songs including “Steven’s Cat,” “Sleeping Man,” “Sleepy Monkey” and “I’m Not Alone.” “Imitation Leather Shoes” brought the first set to a close.

The second frame got underway with “Rebirtha” followed by a continuous block of “Disco,” “Ride Me High,” “Sharon,” “Machine” and “Radio Child.” “Barstools and Dreamers” would close out the second set. WSP reemerge for the encore of “Can’t Get High” followed by “Cocaine”. Cocker’s “High Time We Went,” last timed played at Panic En La Playa 2018, would close out the evening.
