Widespread Panic Collaborates With Dirty Dozen Brass Band Again In Las Vegas

The second of three Widespread Panic shows at The Joint At Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas featuring support from New Orleans’ The Dirty Dozen Brass Band took place on Saturday night. For the second night in a row, members of Dirty Dozen Brass Band collaborated during both Panic sets.

Panic came out swinging with classics “Tall Boy,” “Diner” and “Greta” ahead of “Up All Night.” The band then played “Cotton Was King” and “Jack” before welcoming Kevin Harris on baritone sax for “Angels On High” and “Fishwater.” The second set featured the tour debut of ZZ Top covers “Waitin’ For The Bus” > “Jesus Just Left Chicago,” another soaring “Airplane” and plenty of sit-ins. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band emerged for a cover of David Bromberg’s “Sharon” and the WSP original “Christmas Katie.” Julian Addison then added to the evening’s “Drums” festivities, while “Bust It Big” and Neil Young’s “Mr. Soul” brought the second set to a close. Widespread Panic said farewell with a “Me & The Devil Blues”/”Ain’t Life Grand” encore. The band concludes the run tonight. Audio can be streamed live via livewidespreadpanic.com.
