Last night Ween performed a show at Kettlehouse Amphitheater in Missoula, Montana. The concert featured the quintet’s first performance of mega-rare “The Stallion Pt. 2” in nearly 14 years.
Ween began Sunday’s set with “Pork Roll Egg and Cheese,” followed by additional favorites “She Wanted to Leave,” “Buckingham Green” and “With My Own Bare Hands.” At that point Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo, Aaron “Gene Ween” Freeman, Claude Coleman Jr., Glenn McClelland and Dave Dreiwitz offered up “The Stallion Pt. 2” marking just the second time the band has played the song in public. The only other previous live performance came on July 22, 2003 during the in-studio webcast that became the All Requests Live album. “The Stallion Pt. 2” bust out also meant all five of “The Stallion” parts of have been played by Ween across their last four shows.
Ween’s set continued with takes on staples such as “Doctor Rock,” “Take Me Away” (slow version), “The Mollusk,” “I’ll Be Your Jonny on the Spot,” “Bananas and Blow,” “The HIV Song” and “Spinal Meningitis (Got Me Down).” The band also offered up less commonly played tunes like “I Gots a Weasel,” “Sweet Texas Fire,” “Cold Blows the Wind” and “Monique the Freak.” The three song encore featured “Fiesta” and “Buenas Tardes Amigo” surrounding a cover of Motorhead’s “Ace Of Spades.”
