Yesterday, The String Cheese Incident shared a video from a performance in Austin, Texas that took place 15 years to the day prior. This afternoon, SCI has dug into their archives to unearth video from the same run in Austin but one day later, aka 15 years ago today.
On April 14, 2001 The String Cheese Incident were joined by hometown hero Jimmie Vaughan of the Fabulous Thunderbirds on guitar and vocal for a scorching take on his own “Boom-Bapa-Boom.” The performance still stands as SCI’s only version of the song. Watch the Colorado jam act and Vaughan team up on “Boom-Bapa-Boom” at The Backyard in Austin, Texas on this date in 2001:
Austin was a regular stop for The String Cheese Incident between 1996 and 2006, but the band has only played three shows in the Texas city since (July 4 – 6, 2013). Next up for SCI is their annual headlining appearance at Electric Forest in Rothbury, Michigan which will be followed by a Summer Tour.
