Warren Haynes Continues Europe Tour After Paris Attacks

Warren Haynes was one of many musicians whose tour was affected by the terrorist attacks that wreaked havoc on Paris this past Friday. Haynes and the Ashes & Dust Band featuring drummer Jeff Sipe and members of Nashville’s ChessBoxer were scheduled to play Paris on Sunday night, but decided to cancel the show in the wake of the attacks. The ensemble returned to the road last night for a stirring performance at Le Kursaal in Limbourg, Belgium.
Warren and his band opened the show with a beautiful instrumental take on John Lennon’s “Imagine” that they segued into “Is It Me Or You.” While Haynes had performed the song in the past, last night was the Ashes & Dust Tour debut of the cover. Later in the set, Warren offered a solo version of George Harrison’s fitting “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth).” The Harrison cover was also a tour debut that the guitarist had performed in the past.
Watch stellar fan-shot video of the covers as well as the group’s take on “Crazy Fingers” by the Grateful Dead as captured by Fred Celis:
